Tres ya están muertos. ¿Quién es el número cuatro? D.J. Caruso (Control total, Paranoia) dirige este thriller cargado de acción acerca de John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), un adolescente extraterrestre que intenta ocultarse de despiadados enemigos, enviados para destruirlo. Cambiando constantemente de identidad, mudándose de una ciudad a otra bajo la supervisión de su guardián Henri (Timothy Olyphant), John es siempre 'el chico nuevo' del lugar, sin vínculos con el pasado. Pero ahora la pequeña Ohio se ha convertido en su hogar, y John deberá enfrentarse a nuevos hechos inesperados que le cambiarán la vida: su primer amor (Dianna Agron), el descubrimiento de poderosas y nuevas habilidades, y una conexión especial con aquellos que comparten su increíble destino.
